Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Excursion

Accounting and Financial planning students and educators went on an excursion to visit “The Chartered Practice Accountant” (CPA) Australia – Sydney office.

CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 163,750 members (as at 31 December 2017) working in 125 countries and regions around the world. CPA’s core services to members include education, training, technical support and advocacy.

Employees and members work together with local and international bodies to represent the views and concerns of the profession to governments, regulators, industries, academia and the general public.

A CPA is a finance, accounting and business professional with a specific qualification. Being a CPA is a mark of high professional competence. It indicates a soundness in depth, breadth and quality of accountancy knowledge.

We first met Rupen Malouf (CPA representative, relationship manager, education and business development NSW& ACT) with a big warm welcome. Rupen toured us around the office and also showed us the main CPA boardroom (fascinating).

Then, Rupen and Kelly (CPA representative) explained CPA roles and activities, CPA training programs and resources, CPA memberships, events, careers etc.

It was such a fantastic opportunity, our students learnt a lot which might help them in their future career.

Many thanks to CPA for allowing us to have this memorable experience.
