Diploma of Leadership and Management went on an interactive field trip where they visited Sydney Swans. Sydney Swans is a professional Australian rules football club which plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). Established in Melbourne as the South Melbourne Football Club in 1874, the Swans relocated to Sydney in 1982, thus making it the first club in the competition to be based outside Victoria.
The Swans’ headquarters and training facilities are located at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the club’s playing home ground since 1982.
Students watched their training, talked to Alex Bouttell (Community Engagement Executive), Harrison Marsh (player) and Peter (security).
Alex explained how the team is organised, some technical and tactical strategies. Harrison gave us some caps, signed each cap and took some pictures with the students.
Many thanks to the Sydney Swans for allowing us to have this memorable experience that we will remember forever.
