Introducing our Tertiary Study Success Skills Program, an EAP course designed to go beyond traditional Academic English and equip you with the essential determinants of study success. Tailored for those aspiring to excel in tertiary education in Australia, our fast-paced program targets core success skills and beyond.
Through our EAP course, you'll enhance your academic English proficiency while mastering vital learning strategies and study skills necessary for success at TAFEs, vocational colleges, higher education institutes and universities. Whether you're pursuing certificates, diplomas, undergraduate degrees, or postgraduate programs, our program prepares you to navigate the linguistic, academic, and cultural demands of higher education.
Gain confidence to articulate ideas effectively in academic settings through oral and written presentations, practising critical thinking skills along the way. Our comprehensive curriculum addresses all macro skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening, by providing ample opportunities for engagement in various academic contexts.
Focussed on meeting the Academic English needs of non-English speakers, our course empowers individuals to communicate proficiently in educational and professional environments. While tailored for Australian institutions, the skills acquired are universally applicable to any higher education setting.
Each week, our program explores key academic skill sets, including Academic Speaking, Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Academic Listening, Referencing Protocols, Study Skills, Grammar, and Vocabulary extension. Throughout the course, you'll undergo assessments such as essays, debates, oral presentations, and research assignments to determine your progress and proficiency.
What will you learn in our EAP course?
Our EAP course has 2 levels of 10 weeks each. Each course will progressively develop skills in:
- speaking and understanding English. You’ll develop the ability to articulate ideas effectively in academic settings while also mastering communication skills for everyday interactions.
- reading English. You’ll learn how to engage with complex texts effectively and use them for academic purposes and you will enhance your reading skills for general communication purposes, fostering greater fluency and comprehension in various contexts.
- writing English. You will cultivate your writing prowess for academic and broader communication purposes. From writing scholarly essays to composing clear and concise messages for everyday communication, our course will empower you to express yourself with confidence and clarity.
- using study resources. You will gain proficiency in managing essential study resources to improve your academic journey. You will develop crucial library research skills, navigate introductory computing tools for study purposes, and cultivate independent learning strategies to thrive in any academic environment.
Throughout our EAP courses your awareness of cross-cultural differences will be extended, and you will learn how to use language appropriately to negotiate these differences.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have completed secondary school and have IELTS 4.5 or equivalent.
We have weekly intakes.
Further Studies
Students who have studied our English for Academic Purposes are prepared for academic study in Australia or overseas.
Students will receive monthly Progress Reports and a Certificate of Attainment at the conclusion of the course.
