Course Description

How would you love to create advanced and complex animations and visual effects for websites, social media, advertising, film and television creating videos, developing your own 3D models, 3D characters, 3D animations and 3D environments and then adding exciting foley sounds to your video clip? Imagine the pleasure you will have creating storyboards, e-learning resources, opening titles and credits for a video as well as writing your own stories using the latest industry software - After Effects, Photoshop, Maya, Audition, Media Encoder, Premier Pro.

 

This course offers you the opportunity to learn how to create animated graphics for the digital media industry and for the emerging fields of virtual and augmented reality in games and movies.

 

With a focus on creativity, design thinking and conceptual development, this course will give you an understanding of the fundamental design, technical and management skills required to work in a variety of professional roles.

Entry Requirements

Every student will need to demonstrate:

  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Attaining IELTS 6.0 English language equivalence if a non-native English speaker.

    Please be advised that the Pearson Test of English (PTE) will no longer be recognised as an acceptable measure of a student's English proficiency.

Further Studies

On completion of the CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects), students may gain advanced standing in the Bachelor of Interactive Media or other undergraduate degrees at Wentworth Institute of Higher Education.
